If, at any point during the policy term, you anticipate exceeding the selected kilometre limit, you can extend your coverage under your base policy by paying an additional premium to increase the kilometre limit.

Specific Conditions

  • When you start the policy, the insurer will need information about your vehicle's odometer, telematics device, or IOT device.
  • The coverage provided by the own damage section of the base policy will be available up to the maximum kilometres you have chosen (the kilometres at the beginning of the policy plus the kilometres you commit to driving during the policy period), or until the end date of the base cover, whichever comes first.
  • If your vehicle is involved in an accident, the own damage claim under the base policy will only be paid if your vehicle has not exceeded the chosen kilometres. However, this condition does not apply if the vehicle is stolen and declared a total loss.

In such a case, the insurer will cover all labour and transportation costs for this assistance.

And, you will be responsible for any expenses related to charging or replacing the battery. If your vehicle is an electric vehicle and gets immobilised due to a battery issue within the geographical limit, the company will arrange to tow your vehicle to the nearest workshop, subject to the terms and conditions mentioned under the ‘Towing Facility’.

If you lose your vehicle keys or lock them inside the vehicle within 100 kilometres of your city of residence, Go Digit Private Car Insurance will arrange to pick up your spare keys and deliver them to your vehicle's location. Also, if you do not have spare keys, the company will provide a service to unlock your vehicle using skilled technicians at the vehicle's location.

Under the add-on, the insurer will cover all labour and transportation costs for this assistance. You must provide proof of identity to confirm vehicle ownership. There should be no restrictions from the vehicle manufacturer on unlocking the vehicle, which could potentially cause electrical or mechanical issues with the vehicle.

?Flat Tyre
If your vehicle becomes immobile due to flat tyres within the specified area, the insurer will assist you in either of these two ways –

  • They will arrange for a vehicle technician to replace the flat tyre with the spare one at the location of the breakdown.
  • They will transport the flat tyre to the nearest repair facility and return it to the breakdown location to be attached to your vehicle - if repairs cannot be done at the breakdown location.

In this case,

  • The company will cover the labour and transportation costs for both options.
  • You will be responsible for any expenses related to materials or spare parts needed for the repairs.

 ?Minor Repairs
If your vehicle becomes immobile due to a minor mechanical or electrical issue within the specified area, the company will provide assistance including solutions over the phone for minor problems or sending a vehicle technician to the breakdown location to perform minor repairs. Here, minor repairs are those that can be completed at the breakdown location without the need for spare parts and take less than 45 minutes of labour. Also, the insurer will cover the labour and transportation costs.

?Towing Service
If your vehicle becomes immobile or unsafe to drive and cannot be fixed on the spot due to a breakdown or accident, the insurer will arrange for towing services to take your vehicle to the nearest Digit authorised repair shop. For electric vehicles that run out of battery charge and cannot be swapped, the company will arrange towing to the nearest charging station, vehicle workshop, your home, or your office, whichever is closest.

In this case, the insurer will cover the towing cost for up to 50 kilometres from the breakdown location, with a maximum limit as specified in the policy schedule. Any expenses beyond 50 kilometres or exceeding the specified towing limit in the policy schedule will be your responsibility.

 ?Emergency Message Relay
If your vehicle becomes immobile due to an accident or breakdown, the insurer will help you send urgent messages to your specified contacts using available communication methods.

?Medical Assistance
If your vehicle is involved in an accident and you or any passengers need medical help, the company will provide you with the contact information of the nearest medical centre over the phone.

?Fuel Assistance (not applicable to CNG or Electric Cars)
If your vehicle becomes immobile due to lack of fuel within the area covered, the insurer will arrange to supply up to 5 litres of fuel at the breakdown location. If your vehicle is immobilised due to contaminated fuel within the covered area, arrangements will be made to tow your vehicle to the nearest garage to empty the fuel tank.

In this case,

  • You will need to cover all fuel expenses.
  • The insurer will handle all towing charges.

Towing is subject to the terms and conditions mentioned in the ‘Towing Facility’ section.

?Taxi Benefits
If your vehicle becomes immobile due to an accident or breakdown at a distance of at least 500 kilometres away from your home city, Go Digit Private Car Insurance will offer free transportation to the people in your vehicle to a single destination, up to the limit specified in your policy schedule.

In this case,

  • The service is available only if the repair time for your vehicle exceeds 6 hours from the time of the accident or breakdown.
  • The number of passengers in your vehicle must not exceed its maximum seating capacity.
  • If the company is unable to arrange this service, it may ask you to arrange for a taxi or other transportation on your own and submit the bill for reimbursement, up to the pre-authorised amount.

?Accommodation Benefits
If your vehicle is stuck due to an accident or breakdown at a distance of at least 500 kilometres away from your home city, the insurer will arrange a one-day hotel stay for the people in your vehicle. Each occupant (not exceeding the vehicle's maximum seating capacity) will have a daily limit as specified in the policy schedule subject to maximum total limit as specified in the policy schedule for all occupants at the time of the incident.

In this case,

  • The repair time should exceed 6 hours from the accident or breakdown.
  • The insurer will not provide accommodation benefits if it has already provided taxi benefits.
  • In the rare case that the insurer cannot arrange this service, it may ask you to find your own accommodation and submit the bill to us for reimbursement, up to the pre-authorised amount.

?Legal Advice
If your vehicle is in an accident, and you need a lawyer, Go Digit Private Car Insurance will help you find a nearby lawyer's phone number when you ask for it. In this case, you will have to pay for the lawyer's services, and the insurer will let you know how much it will cost.

Conditions

  • Loss or damage arising from any actions on your part that violate the law.

What to Do When Your Vehicle Breaks Down?
Call the insurance company using their toll-free number if your vehicle breaks down. Provide the following information to the receiver you talk to, as it will help them verify your policy –

  • Your phone number, for the assistance service provider to reach you.
  • Your vehicle's registration number.
  • Your insurance policy number.
  • The exact location of your vehicle (or as precise as possible).
  • Your vehicle's make, model, colour, and any specific details that might help the team find you quickly.

Go Digit Private Car Insurance will collect your information and ask you to stay close to the phone you are calling from. Once the assistance service provider makes all the necessary arrangements, they will contact you to let you know who is coming to assist you and how long they are expected to take. Keep your mobile phone turned on and available for calls at all times. You will also be instructed to return to your vehicle. Always prioritise your safety and stay with or near your vehicle until assistance arrives. If the police or highway authorities are present at the scene, inform them that you have contacted the insurer’s assistance service provider, or provide them with the assistance service provider's phone number so they can call on your behalf.

11. Return to Invoice
If your vehicle is declared a total loss, constructive total loss, or is stolen, the insurer may choose to compensate you for the cost for a new vehicle, subject to the amount specified in the invoice of the insured vehicle, provided that it is of a similar or nearly identical make, model, and has the same features and specifications as the insured vehicle, minus the amount covered by the car insurance policy.

If the exact make, model, and variant of your vehicle is no longer available, the company’s liability will be limited to the difference between the last available invoice price of a vehicle with the same make, model, features, and specifications as your vehicle before its discontinuation - subject to a maximum limit mentioned in the invoice of your vehicle.

Note: If any subsidies or discounts were applied to your vehicle's purchase, the maximum claim amount under this cover will be capped at the actual amount you paid for the vehicle (the price stated in the invoice of the vehicle, minus any subsidies or discounts).

Here are some additional benefits –

  • The insurer will reimburse you for the first-time registration charges you paid for your vehicle.
  • The road tax you paid for your vehicle will also be reimbursed.
  • If you decide to insure the new vehicle with the insurer, the company will reimburse you for the premium of the new vehicle insurance policy. This policy includes your own damage cover, third party liability cover, and any add-on you had in your car insurance policy. The reimbursement amount is limited to the premium you paid under the existing insurance policy for your vehicle.

Here, "Insurance Policy" includes the sum of –

    1. One-year own damage cover premium for your vehicle.
    2. Third-party premium for your vehicle (if you bought the third-party cover with the insurer).
    3. One-year add-on premium for your vehicle.
    4. The cost of any accessories, including a bi-fuel kit, that were specifically insured under the own damage cover of your car insurance policy, provided these accessories were not originally part of the new vehicle when it left the factory.

Conditions

  • In the event of a total loss or constructive total loss, there will be no depreciation applied to assess the loss.
  • You will be responsible for a copayment percentage of the claim amount that is eligible under this add-on. The specific co-payment percentage can be found in the policy schedule.
  • Any claims you make under this add-on must adhere to the conditions outlined in your car insurance policy.
  • Any compensation provided under this add-on will be considered as the complete and final settlement of the insurer’s liability for this add-on.
  • If your vehicle is stolen, the claim payment will be subject to the submission of a Final Investigation Report (FIR) by the police authorities, and this will not occur until at least 90 days have passed from the date of the theft.

The insurer will not cover –

  • Total loss, constructive total loss, or total theft of the vehicle that is not covered by the own damage cover of your car insurance policy.
  • Damage or loss in case the bank or finance company, whose interest is mentioned in the policy, does not provide written agreement.
  • Costs of any accessories, including a bi-fuel kit, that were not specifically insured under the own damage cover of the car insurance policy or were not originally part of the vehicle as per the Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) specifications.
  • Any loss in case the vehicle is recovered within 90 days of the theft, unless an FIR or a non-traceable report is submitted.
  • A total loss or constructive total loss that doesn’t meet the criteria as defined by the car insurance policy.
  • Costs related to extended warranties, fast tags, or similar expenses that you incurred for your vehicle.
